Why Having Standards Is Important and How It Can Help Your Life

Why having standards is important, you ask?

A great question, and the answer is simple: If you don’t want to be a cheater, be with someone who can satisfy you to the bones.

Years ago, someone asked me why I stuck to my standards.

My answer was: “If we choose to be with someone who doesn’t meet all of our standards, we might get attracted to someone else who has the qualities missing in the person we are with.”

In other words, we wouldn’t be satisfied and might keep looking even though there is already someone else in front of us.

Love is powerful, but it is not enough if we want to live a life that satisfies us.

If we decide to be with someone just because we have feelings for them, we might not survive or be happy because we wouldn’t be content.

That could lead to cheating. It is as simple as that.

I don’t want to cheat on anyone, so I would rather stay single than settle for someone who doesn’t tick off the items on my non-negotiable list.

Rejecting is better than hurting, ghosting, or misleading anyone.
